When Digital Meets Physical

Course Overview

Can you learn coding without a computer? This exploratory camp introduces kids to basic programming concepts, builds spatial and problem-solving skills, and instills creativity and resilience. Discover the connection between the digital and physical worlds by making friends with a tiny robot (Ozobot) and building projects on a friendly drag-and-drop programming interface (Scratch)!

Course Outline:

Day 1
  • Instructing a robot (Ozobot) through physical mediums
  • Algorithms and sequence through physical and paper activities
Day 2
  • Coding a robot (Ozobot) through a drag-and-drop computer interface
  • Precision, accuracy and loops through physical and on-screen activities
Day 3
  • Coding a robot (Ozobot) to respond to physical environment (conditionals & event-driven programming)
  • Problem solving through various map challenges
Day 4
  • What makes a computer through examining a credit-card sized computer (Raspberry Pi)
  • Building their first interactive game on Scratch, a drag-and-drop computer interface (visual programming)
Day 5
  • Designing and coding their first interactive computer animation with external input on Scratch
  • Software design and logic through paper and on-screen activities
Computational Thinking
Robotics
Coding Skills

Each day is packed full of exciting activities and games that provoke learning on and off the screens!

  • Siblings who sign up together enjoy additional S$20 off each!
  • Refer a friend and enjoy S$20 off for both you and your friend!

The Loshberry Advantage

Tangible Learning

We believe that young people learn best through kinesthetic and tactile activities, rather being on the screen all the time. Today's kids are growing up amongst technology, but most of it is fundamentally intangible and difficult to conceptualize for children. Our unique blend of physical and on-screen activities will help our students grasp the concepts behind how day-to-day technologies work. Students will gain a higher level of appreciation for the tools and technologies around them.

Highly qualified and experienced teaching team

Our founding team and teachers are industry practitioners who are born and bred in Singapore and are graduates of NUS School of Computing, one of the top schools in the world for Computer Science. They are familiar with both the technology and education scene in Singapore and are ready to share the most relevant and up-to-date knowledge with our students.

Specially designed and structured curriculum

Our lesson materials are prepared with our students' interests in mind and train them to think, design and code using fun and interactive activities. We have a well-structured programme to ensure that learning continues beyond the holidays.

Maximum attention

Our small class size of 6 students to 1 teacher means that our students will always get the attention they need to maximise their learning.
